The 3rd Annual John Ashcraft Memorial Family Trail Run takes place April 25, 2026, at Grindstone Lake. Choose a scenic 5K trail run or a 1 Mile family run starting from the Upper Parking Lot. Open to all ages and abilities. This event is part of the Run Ruidoso 2026 race series.

Beautifully lit and fantastically festive, the Festival of Lights–Parade of Lights starts at 5:30 pm from the corner of Sudderth and Mechem through Midtown, down to the Chamber of Commerce.

Celebrate the magic of the season at Christmas in the Park! Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with music, ice skating, and holiday fun. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive with Mayor Crawford for the tree lighting around 6 p.m., followed by sleigh rides, photos with Santa, and a chance for kids to receive a free toy. Lights on display through January 31, 2026.

Break out the small rods and reels for young anglers to test their skills at Grindstone Lake's 28th Youth Fishing Day on Saturday, June 3, 2022, from 8 am to 1 pm. The event is free and open to children 12 and younger.

Join us in collaboration with Dynamic Discs of New Mexico as we host their annual glow-in-the-dark disc golf tournament! There will be an adult glow game of an 18-hole tournament (front nine twice) at Grindstone Disc Golf Course, with kids pre-glow play at 5 pm. Tee times will be staggered every 12 minutes from 8-9 pm.
