The Village of Ruidoso Parks & Recreation Department offers a variety of recreational services and programs for both children and adults.
Ruidoso Parks and Rec has something for everybody - year-round. Whether it’s hiking, biking, fishing, swimming or competitive sports, Ruidoso has it all. You can bike mountain trails, walk through the forest, paddle on a lake, view wildlife, fish, join a sports team, or just go out and play with family and friends.
The Village of Ruidoso is excited to announce the 2024 Season Opening of the Ruidoso Public Pool and Wibit Water Park on May 25, 2024. The pool will open at 11:00 AM and the Wibit at 10:00 AM.

We are excited to announce the Run Ruidoso Series in 2024. The six unique running races in this series span the outdoor running season and celebrate the vibrant and diverse nature of our local trails. Individuals who finish all Run Ruidoso 2024 events will receive a $100 gift card for Bluebird Running Company with additional participant prizes for those who complete more than three races.
Did you hear the good news? The popular outdoor ice rink at Wingfield Park returns for the 2023-2024 winter season. Time to lace up your skates! Ruidoso’s unique attraction, the Wibit Water Park at Grindstone Lake, opens May 25 for the 2024 summer season. Open Memorial Day to Labor Day, the floating, inflatable platform is perfect for family fun, birthday parties, and special events. Come out for the day or purchase a season pass with swimming, boating, fishing, disc golf, and more available at Grindstone Lake, located in the heart of Ruidoso.

Enjoy the Ruidoso Grindstone Trail system with three different trail running distances: Half Marathon, 8.5 Miler, and 4 Miler. Start and finish at Wingfield Park in Midtown Ruidoso. Great scenery, fantastic volunteer support, legendary Ruidoso carved bears awards for top finishers. This is the fifth of six races in the Run Ruidoso 2024 series and a fundraiser for the Ski Apache Adaptive Sports nonprofit organization.
