The Village of Ruidoso Parks & Recreation Department offers a variety of recreational services and programs for both children and adults.
Ruidoso Parks and Rec has something for everybody - year-round. Whether it’s hiking, biking, fishing, swimming or competitive sports, Ruidoso has it all. You can bike mountain trails, walk through the forest, paddle on a lake, view wildlife, fish, join a sports team, or just go out and play with family and friends.
2025 Season Update: Wibit Water Park Will Remain Closed This Summer: The Wibit Water Park at Grindstone Lake will not open for the 2025 season. While we know this is a favorite summer activity for many, current conditions have made setup and operation unfeasible this year. We appreciate your understanding and encourage visitors to explore the lake’s other outdoor recreation options, including swimming, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and more. The Municipal Pool opened as scheduled on Memorial Day weekend on 5/24/25 at 11:00 a.m. For more info, call 575-257-5030.

Registration is now open for Ruidoso’s Adult Co-Ed Flag Football League! Open to ages 18+, the 6-week season welcomes both walk-on players and full teams. Join the Toss No Mas Cleanup hosted by Ruidoso Parks and Recreation on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Wingfield Park. Youth groups and sports leagues can earn $10 per member for groups of 10 or more. Trash bags, gloves, drinks, and hot dogs will be provided.
