It's that time of year again! The newest edition of the Ruidoso Parks & Rec Activities Guide is now available at the Parks & Rec office, the Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, and attractions throughout the Village. The Ruidoso Parks system is comprised of over 25 miles of trails and pathways within the Village limits; 8 pavilions, 7 athletic fields for baseball, softball, soccer and football; a thriving Community Center, a Gymnasium, a 26,000 square foot Convention Center, (used for weddings, dances, family reunions, meetings, conferences, seminars, and banquets).
The Village also has two alpine reservoirs - Grindstone Lake and Alto Lake - that offer boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking adventures. Numerous other leisure pursuits and offerings include hiking, biking, walking, jogging pathways and open space trails available to citizens.
Our park system also includes facilities that host numerous adult and youth sporting activities, both recreational and competitive, such as baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, football, 5K Runs/Walks, mountain bike races, as well as one of the best and largest Disc Golf Courses in New Mexico.
A new addition to our recreation offerings includes a Gymnasium that can be set
up for multiple court configurations including basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. Current happenings in the facility include Open Gym Basketball, Indoor Soccer, Little League Basketball and Wrestling.
So if you are looking for an activity for yourself, children, or your entire family, or even a place to host an event, Ruidoso Parks, and Recreation has something for everyone.
